Dragons of the Realm: Earth Dragon Collection

Out of nearly 800+ Pixel Dragons I made for Dragons of the Realm around 2004-2008; here is a handful of examples of the "Earth" dragons I made, as well and the examples of the cross breeds that where possible. Some of these designs where joint Protects with Kittyandacat, *Mythee, ~Zargata and Omanafreak who helped make the breedables really take off!

And while it would be funny to Post every single dragon I ever made onto Deviant.... For my Own sanity however I picked some of the best ones to show you. However you can always kill some time and see every single one for yourself by clicking and visiting the Dragon Listings.

Earth dragons where the second dragon type introduced as part of the original breedable-pet shop; and much like Water dragons many of them ended up holding strong roots within the later story board. One particular one to mention is Dipps a quaky earth dragon who was gifted wings that reflected the true nature of his heart. - Various other side notes about the race; was while a breed-able it was quiet popular in mix breeds, as being a "neutral" dragon they where often used to bring out more "Lizard" looking traits among other types; the most popular mix was Dark/Earth as most often called it the "T-Rex" or "Dinosaur" mix. While the light/earth mix never actually accrued - despite having many 'pairing' of it accruing during the actual storyboard, to which for this art sample I had to make an original of my own choosing. (I also made an original fire/earth mix for my own amusement.)


Side notes:

IMC - Stood for "Item Masher Custom" or "Infused Magical Creature" As they where later called when DotR became a full Rp. - The general idea for these was a way for people to get more interesting customs without having to exchange Gaiaonline currency/points for it. As while in the Rp they where considered the makings of a wizard who had gone mad; fusing dragons with ancient relics as a insane method of preserving them.

Gen - Stood for the Generation of the dragon, or rather how much recorded family history it had. Many dragons; more so past the 5th generation where mixed of several different dragon types and came in a wide and crazy combinations.


What is Dragons of the Realm? (Note: This Project is Currently Paused/hiatus)
Some debate it to be another world, others another dimension - but commonly refereed to as the "Dragon Hierarchy", "Hierarchy Of the Seven" or simply "The Dragon Realm" - A world filled with many spirits, magic, demons and dogs; but most importantly... Sapience Dragons The main connection of this world, The Dragon Capital - The City Of Duzell brings many things into this world from countless other realms, strange creatures, magics and sometimes technology into this seemingly un-modern world of dragons. It's mostly single mass of a continent it is made to believe that this realm is very young do to the lack of continental drift, it features a wide range of ex-stream climates, and a unusual amount of lakes and bodies of fresh water - there is no known land-bond seas (lakes of saltwater) within the realm, among it's other strange features that seemingly have no explanation is the lack of volcanic activity throughout the realm - there is only one known active volcano; Amaya Mountain.. some general ideas though point to Fire Dragons being the reasoning for the lack of volcanic activity - but no proof has ever been found. Among other interesting aspects of the realm, the realm in it's self is generally "good weathered" - some would even consider most of the lands within the realm "Paradise" if it where not for the constant conflicts that happen throughout it.


The dominate creatures of this realm; Dragons. Unlike the fire breathing monstrous creatures known in many other realms the dragons in this realm are not only more mild in size and other characteristics but the dragons of this realm are most well known for being "Sapience" - Sapience describes an essential human property that bestows "personhood" onto a non-human. It indicates that a computer, alien, mythical creature or other object will be treated as a completely human character, with similar rights, capabilities and desires as any other human character. The words "sentience", "self-awareness" and consciousness" are used in similar ways.. In short these dragons are just like you and I, they have families, Cities, cultures. often referred to in other realms as domesticated dragons, However it isn't a completely correct statement as these dragons have easily gone among their lives without being suppressed by a higher power, their "Sapience" is natural, they had no outside help in obtaining it. Elven culture often reffed to this realm of dragons as the "Dragon Hierarchy" or "Hierarchy Of the Seven" - The Name given to reefer all the dragons races as a Whole.



Technical Information
Started back in 2004-01-23 Dragons of the Realm was a line of Pixelated breedable signature pets on Gaiaonline.com. (Pets that you put ether on your website or forum signature.) Originally starting with only water dragons, I slowly introduced more different elemental types that where interbreedable with one another creating countless mixed possibilities. And by the time I introduced the 4th dragon type (Ice) It had started to blossom into a solid and well rounded Rp. From this a powerful fan-base started to blossom as the Storyborad grew wild; and many faces such as ~Zargata and *Mythee truly shaped the story into the sheer epicness that it was.

Unfortunately around 2007 Many of us; including myself where lacking the proper free time to run the shop.. However in 2010 ~Zargata and myself worked to remaster DotR; turning it into a pure Roleplay/storyboard rather then just another squishy to add to your signature. ~Zargata worked a lot on redrawing the dragon reference pictures and many of the NPC's for the story. However once again I would be drawn away from DotR due to my adventures in higher education, and simply not having internet. I hope to one day revisit this; where it be Art, comics or actual Rp. However as ~Zargata and myself are still busy with life I won't make any Promises...
